6. Listen and Reflect

The innovative media organisation WIRED has produced a series of videos where an expert explains a concept at five different levels of complexity to five different listeners. For this part of the lesson, you’re going to go away and listen to one of these videos, then you will speak with classmates about your experience as a listener.

a. Before listening…

• First of all, pick a number, 1, 2, or 3.
• Then click here to read a special instruction.
• Open the playlist and choose the video you’re going to watch (but don’t play it yet!).

b. Listen and Reflect

• You can use the worksheet Part 6 – Listening and Reflection to help you.

c. Tell your classmate(s)

• Work in a pair or group and tell them about the video you watched.
• Listen to your classmates. Would you like to watch any of the other videos in the series?
